I craft images from both found and traditional materials. These creations become narratives, characters and atmospheres in a variety of theatrical spectacles. Through conversations and collaborations with the people and objects that surround me, I seek to nurture community connections and to build art that is connected to place.

I owe my artistry to my mother. My childhood of scrapped knees, wood forts, teddy bear soap operas and elaborate piñatas instilled in me an adventurous creative life force. Thank you Mom.

This creative force was fed throughout a nursing career by turning lawns to gardens, starting up a screen printing business and an enduring meditative practice of drawing and painting.

In 2016 I apprenticed with Bread and Puppet Theatre in Glover, Vermont. This experience shifted my visual art practice towards performance and puppetry. In 2017 and 2018 I did my first independent street puppet shows with Noella Murphy and Julia Walker at Antigonight, Lumiere and Nocturne.

In 2020 I left Bread and Puppet, moved back to the Maritimes and founded North Barn Theatre with Ian McFarlane. Since moving back east I have had the privilege of collaborating as a freelance theatre designer making puppets and sets with River Clyde Arts, Gale Force Theatre, Théâtre Gauche, Villains Theatre, Solo Chicken Productions, Ship’s Company Theatre, Halifax Theatre for Young People, Festival Antigonish Theatre, Mulgrave Road Theatre and It’s Gonna be Great Theatre.
